Águila Zapoteca

The Águila Zapoteca Workshop began three generations ago with the Lazo Martínez family. For many years, they dedicated themselves to creating traditional wool rugs on a pedal loom, famous in this small Oaxacan community. However, in 1996, the family decided to explore the creation of pieces using cotton. Gradually, they perfected the technique to create unique tablecloths and bedding, inspired by the patterns of their cultural heritage and encouraged by the discovery of a new material. In 2010, the Hernández Vázquez family joined the team, and today Águila Zapoteca consists of 25 members, with 8 dedicated to cotton and 17 to wool.
